Identify the policy violation first

Google names the policy category but never the exact trigger. Before appealing, fix the obvious issues:

  • Confirm there is business signage outside the location.
  • Remove extra keywords from the profile name.
  • Check whether the address is a home address or a P.O. box.

Appealing the suspension

Step 1: Log in to the appeals tool

Use the Google Business Profile Appeals Tool while signed in to the account that manages the suspended profile.

Step 2: Select the suspended profile

Search for the profile and select it.

Step 3: Check the status

The Details section shows one of: Submitted, Approved, Not Approved, Can't be appealed, or Eligible for appeal.

Step 4: Submit the appeal with evidence

Supporting evidence must be added within 60 minutes of filing, so gather it before you click Appeal.

Adding strong evidence

The business name and address on every document must exactly match the profile. Use a zip file for more than two documents, and never include conflicting information.

You will need the Business Profile ID: open the dashboard, click the three dots, choose Business Profile settings, then Advanced settings, and copy the ID.

Useful documents:

  • Official business registration
  • Business license
  • Tax certificates
  • Utility bills - electricity, water, internet, phone

In the comments, state that the documents prove the business is legitimate and list the corrections you made to bring the profile into compliance.

If the appeal is denied

You can request an additional review, which is usually your last chance. Fix everything that could have caused the suspension and add any further documents. Never create a second profile to work around the process - that results in an instant suspension.
